XPeng (XPEV) recently underwent a significant organizational restructuring led by new president Wang Fengying, who is approaching her one-year anniversary in the role.

The restructuring, reported by local media outlet Jiemian, encompasses changes in marketing, human resources, data, manufacturing, and product planning.

Zhang Li, former Great Wall Motor general manager, joined XPeng a few months ago to head manufacturing, while Jiang Ziyang, previously a senior consultant at consulting firm Ries Strategy, now leads product planning. Huang Ronghai, former head of XPeng's Data Intelligence Center, is now in charge of human resources, and Chen Dan, the former head of human resources, has left the company.

XPeng informed high-ranking employees of the specifics of the restructuring via email last week. President Wang, who started her role on January 30, 2023, and is responsible for product planning, portfolio management, and sales operations, expressed dissatisfaction with Xpeng (NYSE:XPEV)'s performance over the past year, leading to these changes.

The smart driving and car connectivity divisions of XPeng were less impacted by the restructuring, as R&D-related work falls under the responsibility of CEO He Xiaopeng. Li Liyun, in charge of smart driving, and Chen Yonghai, overseeing the internet center, report directly to Mr. He.

Shares of XPEV are down 3.16% in afternoon trading on Monday.
