Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.74% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 0.69% or 0.03 points to trade at 4.38 at the close. Meanwhile, TVN SA (WA:TVN) added 0.52% or 0.10 points to end at 19.10 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 0.33% or 0.02 points to 6.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 5.20% or 2.96 points to trade at 54.00 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 3.85% or 262.35 points to end at 6549.10 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was down 3.07% or 3.40 points to 107.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 432 to 145 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) fell to all time lows; losing 5.20% or 2.96 to 54.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.03% or 1.21 to $58.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.11% or 1.33 to hit $61.92 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.34% or 4.00 to trade at $1177.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.50% to 4.1958, while USD/PLN rose 0.38% to 3.7525.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 95.34.
