Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Chemicals and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.24%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which rose 1.06% or 0.40 points to trade at 38.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 0.66% or 0.38 points to end at 58.00 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 0.26% or 0.09 points to 35.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which fell 3.91% or 2.09 points to trade at 51.36 at the close. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.66% or 0.21 points to end at 5.53 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 3.65% or 2.05 points to 54.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 310 to 218 and 189 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.52% or 0.24 to $46.34 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $49.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.51% or 6.90 to trade at $1350.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.63% to 4.3003, while USD/PLN rose 0.74% to 3.8169.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 94.87.
