Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Energy, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.01%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which rose 2.57% or 0.19 points to trade at 7.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) added 1.66% or 0.74 points to end at 45.24 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.65% or 0.22 points to 13.57 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE), which fell 4.01% or 0.56 points to trade at 13.42 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.26% or 0.57 points to end at 16.89 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was down 2.64% or 4.25 points to 157.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 346 to 192 and 122 ended unchanged.
Shares in PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) fell to all time lows; falling 4.01% or 0.56 to 13.42. Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.26% or 0.57 to 16.89.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.63% or 0.28 to $44.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.93% or 0.45 to hit $48.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.79% or 20.20 to trade at $1151.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.12% to 4.2270, while USD/PLN fell 0.45% to 3.7577.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.46% at 95.95.
