Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Media and Energy sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which rose 1.54% or 0.79 points to trade at 52.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) added 1.45% or 1.00 points to end at 70.00 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 1.31% or 0.67 points to 52.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which fell 3.02% or 1.20 points to trade at 38.50 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 2.32% or 1.69 points to end at 71.31 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 1.92% or 0.46 points to 23.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 287 to 240 and 197 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.39% or 0.21 to $53.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.54% or 0.30 to hit $55.05 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.00% or 0.05 to trade at $1133.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.4097, while USD/PLN fell 0.45% to 4.2260.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 102.98.
