Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Food and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 3.20% or 0.21 points to trade at 6.77 at the close. Meanwhile, mBank SA (WA:MBK) added 2.39% or 10.45 points to end at 448.45 and Powszechna Kasa Oszczednosci Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 2.37% or 0.84 points to 36.27 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 5.92% or 389.45 points to trade at 6185.80 at the close. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 5.23% or 4.03 points to end at 72.96 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) was down 4.86% or 3.40 points to 66.60.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 322 to 228 and 151 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 4.31% or 2.06 to $45.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 4.13% or 2.10 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.42% or 17.71 to trade at $1230.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.20% to 4.2151, while USD/PLN fell 0.58% to 3.8414.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 98.70.
