Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.38%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 3.51% or 1.88 points to trade at 55.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 1.13% or 1.17 points to end at 104.83 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 1.08% or 0.58 points to 54.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which fell 4.29% or 3.09 points to trade at 68.91 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 3.27% or 0.180 points to end at 5.320 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was down 2.08% or 133.15 points to 6266.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 296 to 235 and 186 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 1.30% or 0.68 to $52.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.09% or 0.60 to hit $55.84 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1256.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.39% to 4.2382, while USD/PLN rose 0.28% to 3.9964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 100.89.
