Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Information Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.15% or 0.110 points to trade at 3.600 at the close. Meanwhile, Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.20% or 0.29 points to end at 13.48 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was up 1.92% or 0.60 points to 31.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Synthos SA (WA:SNS), which fell 3.83% or 0.180 points to trade at 4.520 at the close. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) declined 2.21% or 1.80 points to end at 79.70 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 2.00% or 0.96 points to 46.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 248 to 222 and 192 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enea SA (WA:ENAE) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.20% or 0.29 to 13.48. Shares in Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.00% or 0.96 to 46.94.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.77% or 1.26 to $44.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.81% or 1.35 to hit $46.76 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.93% or 11.43 to trade at $1211.87 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.11% to 4.2337, while USD/PLN rose 0.09% to 3.7138.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.81.
