Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Energy and Developers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.28%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 6.08% or 0.31 points to trade at 5.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 3.66% or 2.77 points to end at 78.40 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) was up 1.40% or 70.05 points to 5070.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 3.91% or 0.70 points to trade at 17.20 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.53% or 4.35 points to end at 167.80 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was down 2.29% or 0.98 points to 41.82.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 328 to 215 and 161 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.09% or 0.52 to $48.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.82% or 0.40 to hit $49.37 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.51% or 6.50 to trade at $1280.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.11% to 4.3735, while USD/PLN fell 0.04% to 3.8573.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 94.35.
