Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Energy and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 3.51% or 0.21 points to trade at 6.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 2.41% or 0.86 points to end at 36.59 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.30% or 0.88 points to 68.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 6.76% or 1.04 points to trade at 14.35 at the close. Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) declined 2.34% or 4.50 points to end at 187.50 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 2.12% or 1.78 points to 82.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 311 to 280 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) fell to all time lows; losing 6.76% or 1.04 to 14.35.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.13% or 0.66 to $59.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.06% or 0.69 to hit $66.53 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.53% or 30.60 to trade at $1179.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.90% to 4.0465, while USD/PLN rose 0.55% to 3.6238.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 95.30.
