Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Oil & Gas and Developers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 2.86% or 1.69 points to trade at 60.77 at the close. Meanwhile, KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.82% or 2.17 points to end at 79.11 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.22% or 0.51 points to 23.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which fell 3.73% or 4.77 points to trade at 123.18 at the close. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 2.49% or 0.75 points to end at 29.35 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was down 1.56% or 0.46 points to 29.11.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 274 to 221 and 200 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.73% or 4.77 to 123.18.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.00% or 0.86 to $42.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.32% or 1.05 to hit $44.18 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.55 to trade at $1333.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.27% to 4.3749, while USD/PLN rose 0.19% to 3.9803.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 97.31.
