Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Construction and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 4.73% or 0.23 points to trade at 5.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.82% or 0.11 points to end at 4.01 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 2.25% or 1.84 points to 83.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which fell 2.81% or 7.50 points to trade at 259.30 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.73% or 0.08 points to end at 2.85 and mBank SA (WA:MBK) was down 2.37% or 7.60 points to 313.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 287 to 245 and 161 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 2.87% or 1.28 to $43.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 3.66% or 1.66 to hit $43.71 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 2.26% or 29.25 to trade at $1264.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.15% to 4.4276, while USD/PLN fell 0.14% to 3.8826.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.04.
