Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Media, Telecoms and Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 3.68% or 0.49 points to trade at 13.79 at the close. Meanwhile, Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 2.73% or 1.61 points to end at 60.59 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was up 2.40% or 0.09 points to 3.84 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which fell 4.05% or 0.28 points to trade at 6.63 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 1.79% or 100.15 points to end at 5500.00 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) was down 1.76% or 2.94 points to 163.72.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 279 to 235 and 188 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.78% or 0.30 to $38.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.02% or 0.41 to hit $40.46 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.68% or 8.40 to trade at $1237.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.58% to 4.2443, while USD/PLN fell 1.04% to 3.7265.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 94.52.
