Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Energy and Media sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which rose 2.86% or 1.86 points to trade at 66.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.13% or 0.100 points to end at 4.800 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 1.78% or 2.00 points to 114.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which fell 3.44% or 0.86 points to trade at 24.14 at the close. Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) declined 2.99% or 10.65 points to end at 345.05 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 2.94% or 0.37 points to 12.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 245 to 243 and 191 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.78% or 0.35 to $45.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.57% or 0.27 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.38% or 4.70 to trade at $1244.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.18% to 4.2370, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 3.7100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 95.49.
