Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.44%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.80% or 4.61 points to trade at 72.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 5.71% or 0.89 points to end at 16.49 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 3.52% or 0.17 points to 5.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 1.07% or 0.39 points to trade at 36.09 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 0.20% or 0.04 points to end at 20.09 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 0.10% or 0.01 points to 10.17.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 301 to 169 and 192 ended unchanged.
Shares in Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.20% or 0.04 to 20.09.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.92% or 1.35 to $47.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 3.20% or 1.51 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.25 to trade at $1291.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.07% to 4.4257, while USD/PLN fell 0.39% to 3.9299.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 94.43.
