Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 1.20%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 3.32% or 1.83 points to trade at 56.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.82% or 2.00 points to end at 73.00 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) was up 2.67% or 1.94 points to 74.68 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were OrangePL (WA:OPL), which fell 1.32% or 0.07 points to trade at 5.22 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 0.44% or 0.020 points to end at 4.530 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 0.40% or 0.20 points to 50.30.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 263 to 243 and 210 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) rose to 3-years highs; up 2.82% or 2.00 to 73.00. Shares in Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.40% or 0.20 to 50.30.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.20% or 0.09 to $44.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $46.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.28% or 3.55 to trade at $1275.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.02% to 4.3293, while USD/PLN rose 0.12% to 3.9250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 97.89.
