Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.09%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.59% or 2.48 points to trade at 56.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 4.02% or 4.20 points to end at 108.67 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 3.12% or 2.05 points to 67.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which fell 2.03% or 1.00 points to trade at 48.28 at the close. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.56% or 0.41 points to end at 25.87 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) was down 1.46% or 4.60 points to 309.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 285 to 233 and 184 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.55% or 0.26 to $47.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $49.59 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 1.09% or 13.99 to trade at $1296.69 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.16% to 4.1927, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.7206.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.57.
