Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Banking and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which rose 6.72% or 2.77 points to trade at 43.98 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 3.52% or 0.13 points to end at 3.82 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 3.18% or 3.85 points to 124.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which fell 1.76% or 0.29 points to trade at 16.21 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 1.72% or 0.90 points to end at 51.29 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was down 1.46% or 1.34 points to 90.75.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 303 to 269 and 104 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.76% or 0.29 to 16.21.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.79% or 0.37 to $46.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.28% or 0.64 to hit $48.92 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.58% or 6.60 to trade at $1134.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.28% to 4.2602, while USD/PLN rose 0.05% to 3.8643.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 96.89.
