Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Media, Energy and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.77%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Handlowy w Warszawie SA (WA:BHW), which rose 3.62% or 3.06 points to trade at 87.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) added 2.75% or 0.66 points to end at 24.65 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.58% or 1.79 points to 71.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which fell 3.72% or 1.48 points to trade at 38.35 at the close. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 3.26% or 1.84 points to end at 54.65 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 1.77% or 1.17 points to 64.83.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 288 to 239 and 169 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 3.30% or 1.30 to $38.09 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.86% or 1.17 to hit $39.70 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.56% or 6.80 to trade at $1228.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.12% to 4.2532, while USD/PLN fell 0.19% to 3.7964.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 95.87.
