Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 2.33% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.51 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.11% or 1.90 points to end at 91.90 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 2.07% or 0.15 points to 7.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 3.19% or 0.44 points to trade at 13.37 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.57% or 0.88 points to end at 55.00 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) was down 1.46% or 0.62 points to 41.88.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 279 to 276 and 101 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.00% or 1.35 to $46.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.86% or 0.89 to hit $48.35 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.47% or 5.30 to trade at $1132.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.52% to 4.1851, while USD/PLN rose 0.36% to 3.7342.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.61% at 95.94.
