Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Food sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH), which rose 2.81% or 3.55 points to trade at 130.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) added 2.60% or 0.80 points to end at 31.59 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 2.32% or 2.04 points to 90.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 3.07% or 235.00 points to trade at 7415.00 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 2.36% or 4.50 points to end at 186.00 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) was down 1.93% or 0.40 points to 20.35.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 309 to 282 and 98 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.32% or 2.04 to 90.04.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.69% or 0.41 to $58.74 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.31% or 0.20 to hit $66.25 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.33% or 15.60 to trade at $1190.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.96% to 4.0332, while USD/PLN fell 0.49% to 3.6189.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 95.64.
