Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction, Energy and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which rose 2.32% or 5.80 points to trade at 255.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 2.18% or 0.28 points to end at 13.11 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 2.08% or 0.63 points to 30.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which fell 4.88% or 252.05 points to trade at 4909.00 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 2.67% or 0.25 points to end at 9.10 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was down 1.55% or 0.10 points to 6.35.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 266 to 224 and 170 ended unchanged.
Shares in Energa SA (WA:ENGP) fell to all time lows; falling 2.67% or 0.25 to 9.10.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.39% or 0.19 to $49.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.66% or 0.33 to hit $50.05 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1214.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.3873, while USD/PLN rose 0.25% to 3.9330.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 95.51.
