Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Energy and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.07% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 2.45% or 2.09 points to trade at 87.25 at the close. Meanwhile, Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) added 2.12% or 8.00 points to end at 386.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 1.85% or 0.47 points to 25.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which fell 4.42% or 0.26 points to trade at 5.62 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) declined 2.24% or 0.11 points to end at 4.79 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 2.13% or 1.32 points to 60.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 282 to 268 and 116 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.04% or 1.71 to $57.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 3.39% or 2.12 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.33% or 3.90 to trade at $1190.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.34% to 4.0020, while USD/PLN fell 0.44% to 3.7022.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.68% at 97.57.
