Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Information Technology and Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.05% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were mBank SA (WA:MBK), which rose 4.90% or 18.50 points to trade at 396.00 at the close. Meanwhile, CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) added 2.75% or 1.70 points to end at 63.50 and Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) was up 1.86% or 1.25 points to 68.42 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which fell 2.41% or 0.070 points to trade at 2.830 at the close. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 2.12% or 0.21 points to end at 9.70 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was down 2.06% or 0.50 points to 23.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 299 to 270 and 170 ended unchanged.
Shares in mBank SA (WA:MBK) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.90% or 18.50 to 396.00. Shares in CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) rose to all time highs; rising 2.75% or 1.70 to 63.50.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.61% or 0.32 to $52.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.60% or 0.33 to hit $55.38 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.68% or 8.35 to trade at $1244.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.10% to 4.3114, while USD/PLN fell 0.11% to 4.0275.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 100.09.
