Investing.com – Philippines stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Mining & Oil and Holding Firms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 3.13% or 0.140 points to trade at 4.620 at the close. Meanwhile, International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) added 1.69% or 1.700 points to end at 102.000 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) was up 1.51% or 26.00 points to 1744.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which fell 3.45% or 0.580 points to trade at 16.220 at the close. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) declined 2.71% or 5.60 points to end at 201.40 and Manila Electric Co (PS:MER) was down 1.39% or 3.80 points to 270.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 101 to 94 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.69% or 1.700 to 102.000.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.52% or 6.53 to $1262.93 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $49.13 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.60% or 0.31 to trade at $51.77 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.09% to 7.2498, while USD/PHP fell 0.14% to 49.752.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 97.01.
