Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Banking & Financials and S&P Lima Juniors sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Unacem (LM:CEL), which rose 4.19% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.240 at the close. Meanwhile, Enersur SA (LM:ENE) added 0.70% or 0.060 points to end at 8.650 and Ferreyros (LM:FER) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 1.470 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Relapasa (LM:REL), which fell 8.40% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.218 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 7.94% or 0.025 points to end at 0.290 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was down 7.83% or 0.570 points to 6.710.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 19 to 5 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 4.05% or 1.68 to $39.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.05% or 0.02 to hit $40.53 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 2.27% or 28.40 to trade at $1220.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3770, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8129.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.41% at 96.06.
