Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Bco Continenta (LM:CON), which rose 3.66% or 0.150 points to trade at 4.250 at the close. Meanwhile, Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) added 2.17% or 0.150 points to end at 7.050 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) was up 0.61% or 0.050 points to 8.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa), which fell 14.81% or 0.400 points to trade at 2.300 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 6.90% or 0.060 points to end at 0.810 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was down 6.25% or 0.015 points to 0.225.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 20 to 5 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 4.89% or 2.34 to $45.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.29% or 0.14 to hit $48.27 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.56% or 19.47 to trade at $1229.03 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2835, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.5530.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 98.61.
