Investing.com – Peru stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Telecoms and Agriculture sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.01% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which rose 7.18% or 0.013 points to trade at 0.194 at the close. Meanwhile, Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 3.45% or 0.020 points to end at 0.600 and Milpo (LM:MIL) was up 3.33% or 0.090 points to 2.790 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which fell 3.61% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) declined 1.28% or 1.900 points to end at 147.100 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) was down 0.85% or 0.100 points to 11.600.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.12% or 1.03 to $49.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.67 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1268.85 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.4025, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.8197.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 96.13.
