Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Banking & Financials and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 1.88% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 6.06% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.350 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 5.73% or 0.650 points to end at 12.000 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 4.66% or 0.890 points to 20.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which fell 2.35% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.830 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) declined 1.25% or 0.050 points to end at 3.950 and Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) was down 0.81% or 0.050 points to 6.110.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 19 to 9 and 6 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 2.29% or 1.23 to $52.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 2.06% or 1.17 to hit $55.65 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.64% or 7.35 to trade at $1159.05 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.53% to 3.3739, while EUR/PEN rose 0.03% to 3.5147.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.86% at 103.25.
