Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrials, Non-Metal Minerals and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.58% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 6.25% or 0.850 points to trade at 14.450 at the close. Meanwhile, Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE) added 3.33% or 0.020 points to end at 0.620 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) was up 3.28% or 0.100 points to 3.150 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which fell 5.05% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.940 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 2.90% or 0.004 points to end at 0.134 and Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) was down 2.16% or 0.83 points to 37.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 16 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.32% or 0.71 to $53.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.65% or 0.94 to hit $55.87 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.33% or 16.25 to trade at $1237.05 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.68% to 3.2815, while EUR/PEN rose 0.85% to 3.5154.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 99.81.
