Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining, Services and Electricity sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.47% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edegel (LM:EDE), which rose 4.76% or 0.150 points to trade at 3.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 4.35% or 1.10 points to end at 26.40 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) was up 2.86% or 0.150 points to 5.400 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which fell 5.71% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.330 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 3.65% or 0.250 points to end at 6.600 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was down 3.08% or 0.240 points to 7.560.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 13 to 12 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.86% or 0.150 to 5.400.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 4.18% or 1.65 to $41.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.07% or 0.03 to hit $43.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.60% or 8.30 to trade at $1364.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3480, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7495.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 95.49.
