Investing.com – Peru stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Electricity and Banking & Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which rose 4.82% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.870 at the close. Meanwhile, Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 2.20% or 0.240 points to end at 11.170 and Edegel (LM:EDE) was up 1.54% or 0.040 points to 2.630 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which fell 2.07% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.730 at the close. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 1.43% or 0.100 points to end at 6.900 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was down 1.22% or 0.050 points to 4.050.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lima Stock Exchange by 12 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.39% or 0.21 to $53.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.23% or 0.13 to hit $56.70 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.55 to trade at $1143.35 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.58% to 3.3613, while EUR/PEN fell 1.23% to 3.4920.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 103.23.
