Investing.com – Nigeria stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Insurance sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lagos, the NSE 30 rose 0.84%.
The best performers of the session on the NSE 30 were Stanbicibtc Hl (LAGOS:IBTC), which rose 3.55% or 0.55 points to trade at 16.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Union Bank LG (LAGOS:UBN) added 1.15% or 0.05 points to end at 4.37 and Zenithbank (LAGOS:ZENITHB) was up 0.48% or 0.07 points to 14.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Wemabank (LAGOS:WEMABAN), which fell 3.13% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.620 at the close. Skye Bank (LAGOS:SKYEBAN) declined 1.52% or 0.01 points to end at 0.64 and Fidelitybk (LAGOS:FIDELIT) was down 1.11% or 0.010 points to 0.890.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lagos Stock Exchange by 15 to 14 and 62 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.50% or 0.22 to $43.64 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.89% or 0.41 to hit $45.54 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1318.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/NGN was down 0.15% to 351.330, while USD/NGN fell 0.78% to 318.500.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.91.
