Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa), which rose 2.93% or 0.665 points to trade at 23.375 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 0.31% or 0.12 points to end at 38.30 and Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) was down 0.32% or 0.10 points to 29.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which fell 2.25% or 2.17 points to trade at 94.33 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 2.19% or 0.46 points to end at 20.34 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 1.90% or 0.32 points to 16.48.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 131 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.54% to 21.97 a new 3-months high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.81% or 0.38 to $46.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.03% or 0.50 to hit $48.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 1.20% or 15.25 to trade at $1288.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.1054, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.9035.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.56% at 97.77.
