Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.61%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 0.43% or 0.026 points to trade at 6.138 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) added 0.34% or 0.07 points to end at 20.64 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) was up 0.27% or 0.26 points to 96.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which fell 5.38% or 2.81 points to trade at 49.53 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 2.03% or 0.61 points to end at 29.39 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) was down 1.65% or 0.22 points to 13.09.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 120 to 51 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gemalto (AS:GTO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.38% or 2.81 to 49.53.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 10.75% to 20.05 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.26% or 1.59 to $47.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.57% or 1.81 to hit $48.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1275.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0975, while EUR/GBP fell 0.45% to 0.8975.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.36.
