Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.01%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 3.71% or 0.52 points to trade at 14.52 at the close. Meanwhile, Gemalto (AS:GTO) added 1.83% or 1.07 points to end at 59.67 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) was up 1.23% or 0.200 points to 16.405 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 4.93% or 0.39 points to trade at 7.57 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 3.23% or 0.15 points to end at 4.58 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was down 1.15% or 0.28 points to 23.72.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 99 to 76 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Relx NV (AS:RELN) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.23% or 0.200 to 16.405.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.24% to 22.13.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 2.49% or 1.07 to $41.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.93% or 0.42 to hit $45.03 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.36% or 14.50 to trade at $1055.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.10% to 1.0600, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.7050.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 100.08.
