Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.35%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which rose 2.35% or 2.03 points to trade at 88.39 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 2.19% or 0.90 points to end at 41.91 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 2.05% or 1.13 points to 56.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad (AS:RAND), which fell 1.53% or 0.56 points to trade at 36.16 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) declined 1.42% or 0.059 points to end at 4.091 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was down 0.88% or 0.12 points to 13.48.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 134 to 37 and 8 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.57% to 22.99.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.19% or 1.09 to $48.79 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.30% or 1.18 to hit $50.14 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.57% or 7.55 to trade at $1319.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.49% to 1.1070, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8344.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.55% at 96.22.
