Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which rose 2.67% or 2.28 points to trade at 87.58 at the close. Meanwhile, Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) added 2.56% or 2.02 points to end at 80.78 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) was up 2.37% or 0.18 points to 7.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN), which fell 10.79% or 3.25 points to trade at 26.88 at the close. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 1.57% or 0.290 points to end at 18.152 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) was down 1.36% or 0.365 points to 26.560.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 79 to 39 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.79% or 3.25 to 26.88.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 12.27% to 14.11.
Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.19% or 0.73 to $60.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.87% or 0.56 to hit $63.78 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.40 to trade at $1321.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.2315, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.11.
