Lordstown Motors Corp (NASDAQ:RIDE) said Tuesday that the Ohio-based electric vehicle company has resumed production and deliveries of its Endurance electric pick-up truck this month after a pause in February to address quality issues.

Production will resume at a “very low pace,” the company said in a news release this morning.

The company launched production of the Endurance EV truck during the third quarter of 2022 and began commercial deliveries in November. However, in February, complaints came back that the vehicle could lose power in cold weather. Lordstown issued a voluntary recall to address the issues related to its propulsion system.

According to filings with the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, the company had already halted production of the Endurance before the first defects were reported. The recall affected 19 vehicles.

A second recall was announced March 6 to address a braking system component in seven vehicles, according to the NHTSA.

Lordstown, whose shares were trading 1% higher premarket, also said it has struck a deal with Amerit Fleet Solutions for service and maintenance for its fleet customers.

“Amerit is a perfect fit with Lordstown because it is a well-established service provider to the fleet and commercial industry with experience in the service and maintenance of EVs,” said Edward Hightower, CEO and president of Lordstown Motors Corp. “Our vehicles and connectivity features, combined with Amerit’s mobile service network and innovative maintenance solutions, provide Lordstown with the ability to offer a comprehensive and customized EV experience for our fleet customers.”

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly provide EV service and warranty for the Lordstown Endurance in key states allowed by law, as well as future vehicles developed by Lordstown in collaboration with Foxconn.

Shares of RIDE are up 0.49% in mid-day trading on Tuesday.
