Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 2.88% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which rose 0.66% or 0.10 points to trade at 15.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Snam (MI:SRG) fell 0.37% or 0.020 points to end at 5.400 and Italcementi (MI:ITAI) was down 0.39% or 0.040 points to 10.260 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which fell 8.05% or 0.4300 points to trade at 4.9100 at the close. Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) declined 6.56% or 0.0380 points to end at 0.5410 and UBI Banca (MI:UBI) was down 5.89% or 0.1900 points to 3.0360.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 362 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) fell to 3-years lows; falling 8.05% or 0.4300 to 4.9100. Shares in Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) fell to 52-week lows; falling 6.56% or 0.0380 to 0.5410.
Crude oil for May delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $35.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $37.69 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.90% or 11.00 to trade at $1230.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP rose 0.85% to 0.8050.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 94.57.
