Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 1.29%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK), which rose 0.53% or 0.04 points to trade at 6.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) added 0.47% or 0.0040 points to end at 0.8550 and A2A (MI:A2) was up 0.47% or 0.006 points to 1.287 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO), which fell 6.29% or 0.2800 points to trade at 4.1680 at the close. Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) declined 4.73% or 0.0245 points to end at 0.4935 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was down 4.31% or 0.196 points to 4.352.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 275 to 124 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) fell to all time lows; down 6.29% or 0.2800 to 4.1680. Shares in Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.73% or 0.0245 to 0.4935.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.55% or 6.75 to trade at $1210.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 1.06% to 0.7752.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.52.
