Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were UBI Banca (MI:UBI), which rose 1.79% or 0.0520 points to trade at 2.9640 at the close. Meanwhile, FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) added 1.59% or 0.10 points to end at 6.40 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 1.44% or 0.075 points to 5.275 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Saipem (MI:SPMI), which fell 2.40% or 0.0097 points to trade at 0.3938 at the close. Mediaset (MI:MS) declined 1.90% or 0.072 points to end at 3.720 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 1.65% or 0.085 points to 5.060.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 209 to 196 and 21 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.30% or 0.65 to $49.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.32% or 0.67 to hit $49.95 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.55 to trade at $1270.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.68% to 1.1317, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.7693.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.51% at 93.68.
