Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Chemicals and Travel & Leisure sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 4.16% or 0.34 points to trade at 8.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Tenaris (MILAN:TENR) added 2.47% or 0.28 points to end at 11.61 and Terna (MILAN:TRN) was up 0.77% or 0.032 points to 4.180 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which fell 5.64% or 1.47 points to trade at 24.58 at the close. Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII) declined 3.12% or 0.250 points to end at 7.765 and Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) was down 2.74% or 0.031 points to 1.101.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 302 to 147 and 5 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 6.86% or 2.92 to $45.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 6.11% or 2.90 to hit $50.47 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.99% or 11.10 to trade at $1133.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1163, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.7261.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.57% at 96.29.
