Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which rose 3.17% or 0.138 points to trade at 4.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS) added 2.09% or 0.0125 points to end at 0.6115 and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA) was up 2.01% or 0.1250 points to 6.3500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anima Holding SpA (MI:ANIM), which fell 3.74% or 0.20 points to trade at 5.28 at the close. Unicredit (MI:CRDI) declined 2.05% or 0.0580 points to end at 2.7660 and Snam (MI:SRG) was down 1.76% or 0.090 points to 5.010.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 194 to 190 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unicredit (MI:CRDI) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.05% or 0.0580 to 2.7660.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.47% or 0.23 to $49.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 0.84% or 0.42 to hit $50.14 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1214.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1156, while EUR/GBP fell 0.36% to 0.7735.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 95.49.
