Investing.com – Italy stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Financials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MI:BMPS), which rose 3.32% or 0.0074 points to trade at 0.2301 at the close. Meanwhile, Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) added 2.26% or 1.15 points to end at 52.10 and Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) was up 2.21% or 0.44 points to 20.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII), which fell 2.24% or 0.0067 points to trade at 0.2927 at the close. Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) declined 2.01% or 0.038 points to end at 1.856 and Unipol (MI:UNPI) was down 1.50% or 0.042 points to 2.760.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 209 to 181 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.24% or 0.0067 to 0.2927. Shares in Ferrari NV (MI:RACE) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.26% or 1.15 to 52.10.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $47.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.95 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.38% or 4.50 to trade at $1183.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.03% to 1.0556, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8476.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 101.76.
