The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which rose 3.88% or 0.330 points to trade at 8.825 at the close. Meanwhile, STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) added 3.63% or 0.520 points to end at 14.840 and Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII) was up 3.21% or 0.156 points to 5.020 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP), which fell 1.81% or 0.45 points to trade at 24.40 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) declined 1.54% or 0.0062 points to end at 0.3956 and Campari (MI:CPRI) was down 1.27% or 0.14 points to 10.86.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 191 to 156 and 21 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.00 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.84 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.89 to trade at $1267.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.22% to 1.0897, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.8416.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 98.89.
