Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 3.58%.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MI:EMII), which rose 14.31% or 0.538 points to trade at 4.298 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Popolare di Milano Scarl (MI:PMII) added 10.93% or 0.0560 points to end at 0.5685 and Banco Popolare Sc (MI:BAPO) was up 10.90% or 0.4780 points to 4.8640 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tod'S (MI:TOD), which fell 0.51% or 0.30 points to trade at 59.05 at the close. Italcementi (MI:ITAI) added 0.39% or 0.040 points to end at 10.350 and A2A (MI:A2) was up 0.51% or 0.006 points to 1.190.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 327 to 77 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tod'S (MI:TOD) fell to 5-year lows; losing 0.51% or 0.30 to 59.05. Shares in Italcementi (MI:ITAI) rose to 5-year highs; up 0.39% or 0.040 to 10.350.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 6.55% or 2.44 to $39.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 6.24% or 2.46 to hit $41.89 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.41% or 5.10 to trade at $1242.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.29% to 1.1411, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8079.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 94.18.
