Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB added 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW), which rose 2.82% or 0.049 points to trade at 1.784 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) added 2.66% or 0.0480 points to end at 1.8550 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) was up 1.91% or 0.58 points to 30.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which fell 2.80% or 0.37 points to trade at 12.86 at the close. Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) declined 1.35% or 0.160 points to end at 11.670 and Exor (MILAN:EXOR) was down 1.32% or 0.58 points to 43.38.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 247 to 215 and 8 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.51% or 0.93 to $60.50 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.32% or 0.86 to hit $64.83 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.65% or 7.70 to trade at $1178.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 95.25.
