HONG KONG, April 26 (Reuters) - The benchmark Hang Seng index was down 0.66 percent at 23,977.84 as of 0241 GMT. The China Enterprises index of top locally listed mainland companies was down 0.71 percent.
Stocks on the move:
* Belle International Holdings Ltd was down 2.5 percent after the company reported that its chairman had been hospitalised after suffering a stroke. Most analysts, however, expected limited disruption to Belle's business and said any near-term weakness would be an opportunity to buy shares.
* Aluminum Corp of China Ltd (Chalco) fell 2.8 percent after the company reported a 47 percent drop in first-quarter net profit as escalating raw materials costs hit margins. Chalco was the most actively traded benchmark consistent on Tuesday morning.[ID:nL3E7FL12U]
* China Life Insurance Co Ltd led declines in the financial sector, dropping 2.7 percent, after the company said weak investment returns resulted in a 22 percent drop in first-quarter profit. [ID:nL3E7FP1SM]
