Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 4.68% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 3.52% or 0.05 points to trade at 1.47 at the close. Meanwhile, Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 3.07% or 0.03 points to end at 0.97 and Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) was up 0.57% or 0.01 points to 1.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Intrakat (AT:INCr), which fell 13.94% or 0.081 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Bank Of Piraeus (AT:BOPr) declined 12.17% or 0.050 points to end at 0.361 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was down 11.30% or 0.046 points to 0.361.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 62 to 13 and 1 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.80 to $1181.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.86% or 0.52 to hit $59.88 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.69 to trade at $63.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1244, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.7228.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.13% at 95.36.
